What exuberant flowers! Joe Zary sports its uninhibited blooms in great profusion in late spring,
but will bloom a bit most of the summer if fed and watered. The flowers begin as lavendar-colored buds,
darkening to purple as they open. If you want the color to stay as dark as possible plant Joe in part shade,
as the sun may fade it. This amazing variety brings all new meaning to the phrase, "purple clematis"!

Bred on the Canadian Plains, Joe Zary is reliably hardy to Zone 3. However, this cold tolerant clematis
may not be well suited to the hotter parts of the United States.
